Latest School Website Design – February
Latest School Website Design February 2017
We’ve been working hard this year creating lovely new school websites combining bespoke design along with coding some really useful features. Let’s take a look at some of our latest school website design examples.
Cranfield CofE Academy Website
We don’t lock schools into long term website contracts – we prefer to work with schools who want to work with us rather than schools who have to work with us! This also means that we work extra hard to provide fantastic support and our extremely cost effective redesign packages mean it’s very easy for schools to get a “new” website with the minimum of fuss. We’ve been very happy to work with Cranfield CofE Academy in Bedford since 2012. Just before Christmas they approached us to discuss a more modern look for their website. The new website design centres around a gallery of images on the home page which fill the screen for maximum impact. Towards the bottom of the screen is a handy collection of notices, latest news items, upcoming diary dates and quick links. Of note also is the “Social Media” button on the far right of the screen which allows what we call our “social media wall” to slide out and full the screen with a wall of their latest tweets and tweeted photos.
The “Our Values” tab on the far left of the home page slides out to reveal the school values along with a link to more information. There’s also a downloadable values feather (a crane feather of course!) which parents can print and complete at home and send into school which is a nice touch.
Cranfield Academy also wished to ensure that information about their pre-school was prominently available. The pre-school has it’s own menu tab signposted with their logo containing pages which provide information about their Early Years provision. Their website is of course smartphone friendly.
Alexander McLeod Primary School Website
This is another re-design for a school we’ve had the pleasure of working with for a number of years – the Alexander McLeod Primary School in Greenwich. We love the clean, crisp and simple website design, the modern fonts and the blue colour palette which matches their uniform. The home page combines feature images, their motto, a short welcome, one click access to their latest newsletter and their latest twitter post which appears on at the bottom of every page.
Swinnow Primary School Website
A change of gears here and we’re lucky to have such a talented design team who can effortlessly craft whatever schools wish for. Swinnow Primary School wanted an illustrated school website design which reflected their surroundings in Leeds and also their immediate surroundings in their playground. We have created a very colourful website beautifully depicting a green landscape and features of their school playground such as a life size chess board and fitness area. Cartoony characters can be seen happily playing against the backdrop of various landmarks associated with Leeds City. It’s not just a pretty picture though with the home page also displaying key information for parents such as latest newsletters, letters and the latest posts from the Headteacher’s Blog. A scrolling noticeboard also appears just below the main menu displaying any important notices. Parents are even more well catered for as the school also have a bespoke mobile app as well as a smartphone friendly version of the website. (See our post – What’s the difference between smartphone friendly websites and school mobile apps?)
Don’t forget, you can also view our extensive portfolio of school websites searchable on our School website portfolio page. It’s even searchable by colour and type!
